How does the Libreband differ from other sensor protection?

Our concept for Libreband is based on transforming a sensor from a medical device to sports-style accessory.

Librebands are manufactured in the UK with injection moulded ABS plastic (the same material as Lego bricks) which gives a durable high-quality finish, not like products made from 3D home-printers.

The straps are skin-friendly, made from neoprene for a comfortable fit with a slider for size adjustment.

Librebands are durable and can be taken on and off as much as you like, unlike tape, plasters and patches.

Can you wear the Libreband with a Libre 2 sensor?

Yes, Libreband 2 armbands are suitable for use with FreeStyle Libre 2, Libre 2 Plus, Libre SELECT and Lingo by Abbott sensors.

Can you wear a CGM armband, like a Libreband, all the time?

Yes, Librebands are suitable for wearing 24/7 as they are comfortable and do not 'pull' on skin. The neoprene strap does not contain latex and has a more natural stretch than elastic. Our armbands are designed for long term wear and are reusuable with many sensors.

How do I know what size armband to order? Plus

The measurements for our armbands are based on upper arm circumference, so customers are advised to measure around the part of the arm where the Libre is going to be positioned – you can use a tape measure or alternatively, a piece of string and ruler.

 Small Medium Large
20cm - 30cm 25cm - 45cm 40cm - 55cm
8"-12" 10" - 18" 15.5" - 21.5"

A child size is available measuring 16-22cm.

Can Librebands help to keep on sensors worn by people without diabetes?

Yes, Librebands are designed to help athletes, sports persons and those using a CGM for nutrition and wellness programs. Wearing an armband will help to ensure that users get the maximum 14-day use from their sensor. Librebands available are intended to give a sports style look to complement current sportswear trends.

Can you buy a replacement armband?

The strap is fitted to the casing in a specific way during the manufacturing process which affects the sizing range of the armband. As such it is not possible to supply the strap separately for home assembly.

How do you put on a Libreband/Dexband?

It’s best to loosely fasten the armband and then slide it up the arm and gently position over the sensor, then adjust the strap and secure with the Velcro.

It may help to get assistance the first time, but it is also possible to put this on yourself.

You can see our video of how to fit a Libreband here.

Can you scan over the cover of the Libreband?

Yes,  you can easily scan through the cover, just as it can scan through clothing. Wearing a Love My Libre armband does not affect the performance of a sensor/CGM, or the ability to scan to get glucose levels.

Are Librebands and Dexbands suitable for swimming?

Wearing a Libreband or Dexband will help to protect a sensor from the friction caused by swimming and being in water, such as in a hot tub. The cover and neoprene armband are themselves water-resistant, however, the product does not provide any additional waterproof protection to the Libre sensor - nor do stickers or patches.

Love My Libre customers include competitive athletes, who have worn our armbands for swimming and water activities and have found it helpful for protection and in giving them confidence in water whilst wearing a sensor, especially when doing so for an extended period.

There's more about Swimming with a Libreband in our blog here or see our YouTube video, click here.

Can you wear a Libreband in the shower?

Yes, the neoprene strap will dry fairly quickly as it’s the same material as used for scuba diving wetsuits.

How do I wash a Libreband or Dexband?

The armbands sold by Love My Libre can be washed in lukewarm water. Add a little liquid soap if needed, but avoid rubbing the neoprene. The strap will usually air-dry in around 20 minutes.

Tip - to speed up drying roll in a towel before air-drying.

Does the band strap contain latex?

Libreband and Dexband straps are made from a neoprene fabric which contains rubber, Styrene Butadiene Rubber, (SBR) sandwiched with polyester spandex, and therefore does not contain latex. However, the rubber is stuck together with adhesives which might cause a reaction in some circumstances.

We do not accept any liability for any adverse reaction to the use of the product and you are advised to seek medical advice to assess suitability if you have allergies or are susceptible to any skin irritation.

What is the return policy?

We hope you’ll be delighted with your purchase, but if you wish to exchange for a different size, or return your armband for any other reason, please let us know by email to hello@lovemylibre.com

Further information on exchanges and returns can be found in our Returns Policy on the website.
